Pokémon GO briefly had a new promo code with 10 items, trainers believe it is April Fool’s Day

New promo codes for Pokémon GO are actually always a reason for joy among the trainers. But the latest gift bundle was not well received. Why?

What is this code? Niantic regularly releases new promo codes for Pokémon GO. Each trainer then has the chance to redeem such a code once and secure free content for it. As a rule, these are different items that you unlock with them. Recently you could even secure research for legendary Pokémon with it.

The latest code was released on the evening of April 12th, and some trainers are even sad that they unlocked the rewards.

But trainers report that the combination expired after just a few hours.

What’s in it? This code would have given you 5 Super Balls and 5 Potions. So, compared to other promo codes, it’s a pretty poor yield. The 5 potions are the weakest version of this item.

How are the coaches reacting? Usually, after the release of new promo codes, a good mood arises in the community. Trainers quickly redeem the combinations to secure the items. Everything is dropped there in order to be on time. This time the community behaved differently. There’s a lot of mockery on Reddit.

  • To which user Matty8520 replies: “That’s how I felt. 5 potions are very easy to get and often times I clear out tons of them. 5 Super Balls is nice, but I’m lucky enough to have a lot of PokéStops. In case the code has a limit, have someone else redeem it instead of me”
  • Trainer AxeVice posts a screenshot of successfully redeeming the code and comments “it works, unfortunately”.

    • This promo may have been something specifically aimed at newer trainers. Beginners might appreciate potions and a few balls. Especially if you don’t have many stops nearby. Still, 5 potions and 5 Super Balls just isn’t much. Especially considering we’ve had codes with 30 Poké Balls and smoke, or even Super Incubators and Lucky Eggs.
