PoE player defeats the toughest boss on hardcore – Build is too strong, will be disabled

At the very end of Diablo 4, a particularly tough “final boss” awaits anyone who dares to face him. Now the first player has managed to defeat this boss – with a hardcore character. The master here is actually known for Path of Exile.

What is this boss?

For spoiler reasons, we won’t reveal who exactly this final boss is at this point. You can find more information about the boss in the linked articles. Thanks to MeinMMO reader Bahaha for pointing out the kill.

Who is the player? The player is known by the name Ben_ on Twitch and actually mainly shows gameplay from Path of Exile there, with the occasional World of Warcraft too. Since the release, however, he has been playing and streaming Diablo 4 for an average of almost 2,800 viewers (via sullygnome).

Now Ben_ has become the first player in the world to take down the infamous “Pinnacle Boss” in Diablo 4 – or at least the first to show it off publicly. And in hardcore mode. That is, if he had died, his character would have been gone permanently. All game time for naught.

We show you the clip of the kill here. Spoiler alert again: if you don’t want to see who the final boss is, don’t look here:

The “Pinnacle Boss” will dismantle even the greatest experts of Diablo 4

How did Ben_ get the kill? The expert relied on one of the strongest builds currently available: the whirlwind barbarian. It is currently in the S tier in the tier list with the best builds in Diablo 4.

The build relies on the Barbarian circling around enemies in his iconic whirlwind for as long as possible, simply shredding them into small pieces. In doing so, he makes them vulnerable, thereby dealing more damage and causing them to bleed. He even heals himself with the damage. Ben_ shows the exact build on Twitch.

Whirlwind Barbarians have been around in Diablo for ages, and the build is one of the most well-known in the series.

However, in Diablo 4, there were some problems with it. Disabled 2 of the important items for the build to rework them because they were not working correctly as the community manager says. So much damage was not intended.

What makes the boss so difficult? The Pinnacle Boss has tons of mechanics that could also appear in a 20-player MMORPG boss fight. He covers the whole area with attacks, calls servants and disappears again and again in some phases.

The damage is so high that, depending on the build, you are simply killed in one hit. Many experts fail the boss and even decide to flee after 24 minutes rather than risk their characters.

At the moment, the boss is considered the biggest challenge in the game and a yardstick for the best players. The fight has even claimed several lives, including a particularly tragic one by the well-known streamer Wudijo, who made a pretty stupid mistake:
