(Tiper Stock Exchange) – “I say to Minister Fitto: if there is someone who is unable to spend all the resources of the PNRR, we are ready to spend 2.7 billion euros more, with projects concerning the house and the Pinqua on the quality of livingand interventions to reduce losses on the water network”. This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matthew Salvini, in his speech at the initiative Italy mission 2021-2026 promoted by Anci and dedicated to the PNRR of Municipalities.

The Minister explained that the Pinqua on the quality of living provides for the renovation and redevelopment of 10,000 apartments. “Three quarters of the works are already in progress or in the publication phase of the tender. Then there are – he added – 112 projects approved but not financed which amount to 1.5 billion euros”. As regards instead the fight against water dispersion, which “affects all of Italy, not just the South, we have investments of 900 million euros and the award of contracts, as foreseen by the Pnrr, will take place by September 2023. Then there are projects admitted and unfunded for 1.2 billion”. Overall “we can ground projects for a further 2.7 billion euros”.

“I’m glad this assembly has denied that Italy won’t make it. I am convinced that Italy will make it, thanks to the mayors who will use the resources and spend well”.

The Minister also spoke of the new procurement code, in force since 1 July, which “has not led to” blockages “. To date “more than 2,000 contracting stations have been qualified, about 4,000 identification codes have been requested, there is no it was the caesura that some feared”. Salvini added that the procurement code “is based on the criterion of trust in the mayors”. To those who have criticized the reform arguing that there is the risk that “the mayors will give the contracts to brothers , cousins, relatives, I say that this will not happen, the owls will be proven wrong”. The new procurement code, concluded the Minister, was conceived to improve procedures in terms of “speed and simplification”. “We meet at the end of the year, with Anci, Upi and the operators to check if there are any adjustments to be made and by 31 December we will draw the conclusions”
