PM Nilsson gets the green light from the Karensnämnden to start his new job at Timbro.

Nilsson resigned from his job as State Secretary to Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the end of January. Shortly afterwards came the news that he got a new job at the think tank Timbro.

However, he had not reported this to the Karen Committee. Since 2018, ministers and state secretaries who go to a job outside the state within less than a year must report this to the authority for review. After Dagens industri reported on the matter, Nilsson submitted a report afterwards.

Now the board has decided that Nilsson can take office: He was state secretary for such a short time that he is not subject to any restrictions.

The former foreign minister Ann Linde, on the other hand, is restricted in her new role as an advisor to Apple. The board has decided that she may not share information she received as a minister, which is not available to a wider circle, in her role at Apple.
