This console is the first Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) It will include technology and aims to achieve impressive targets such as 120 FPS in 4K resolution and 60 FPS in 8K resolution. While the code name of PlayStation 5 Pro is known as Trinity, the details and goals of PSSR technology have come to light with recent leaks.

Details about how PSSR will perform on PlayStation 5 Pro were revealed in leaked documents. It was stated that this technology aims to achieve ambitious targets such as 4K 120FPS and 8K 60FPS, despite hardware limitations. It is currently stated that PlayStation 5 Pro supports 3840 × 2160 resolution and targets 4K 60 FPS and 8K 30FPS, but it is unclear whether these internal targets will be achieved. PSSR’s memory requirements are approximately 250MB in total.

The platform will offer two game runs with next-generation graphics. The goal for the first game is to offer an image quality close to Fidelity Mode with 60 FPS in Performance Mode; PlayStation 5 Pro achieves 1440p resolution at 60 FPS using PSSR. For the second game, the goal is to add the ray tracing feature to the gameplay. While the standard PlayStation 5 achieves 60 FPS without ray tracing, PlayStation 5 Pro can maintain the same FPS value with ray tracing.
