Then we welcome Pat Kalla for the release of his 3rd album Beautiful Earth.

From the gospel choirs of his childhood to the Last Poets and Gil Scott-Heron of his adolescence; from his passion for stories to that for French authors and composers, Pat Kalla’s career has been nothing but a logical succession of passions which have added to one another, without ever looking askance at one another or denying one another.

The keyboards were his musical gateway, his warm-up round where his first conscious and poetic texts were written, before the fifteen-year-old teenager went to experience his slam in contact with the singers of the streets of Lyon.

A mixed-race Franco-Cameroonian, African percussion strikes his mind at the same time as the majority. They are Guinean and Malian, he will study them for many years. Rap mixes with traditional and, at the same time, it is the writing of tales which, from now on, guides his pen on the sheet. African heritage again, wisdom, relationship to nature and ancestors inhabit the words, the light of philosophy illuminates them finely. Too fertile imagination makes the pen travel. The path of tales is full of colors, it is to children that Pat Kalla will also address, writing them shows, one of which will be crowned with the Mino Prize, Cameroonian stories which are revisited under a funk and soul groove . The same one that he ardently explores in parallel with E_Brothers, his formation led by the compass of George Clinton’s P-Funk. The first self-produced step in a recording career before the meeting with the musical mastermind Patchworks from which Jongler (Favorite Recordings – 2018), his first album, will result. Together, the two men will also create the Voilàà Sound System of which Pat will become the voice, in the studio and on stage.

Pat Kalla and Super Mojo.

Children always. Parallel activities, again. Pat Kalla works with those who are labeled “academic failures”, takes them out of their daily lives, opens their minds to put confidence back on track.

Guitar slung over his shoulder, adorned with his indestructible and incandescent group called Super Mojo, it is under the Pura Vida Sounds flag (division of the Heavenly Sweetness label) that Pat Kalla has been officiating since 2021, the year he released Hymn to Lifebefore Beautiful Earth will come to ratify the collaboration, in 2023. Two albums produced and produced in musical co-pooling with Guts.

Titles played: Beautiful Earth, To like (Feat Bonbon Vaudou), Soldier And River (Featuring Rebecca Mboungou de Kolinga).
