Police were alerted via SOS alarm at 8:19 p.m. that an injured man had been found outdoors in Råssnäs in central Motala, and when police arrived at the scene, the man was found badly injured outside a grocery store.
– He had been injured with a stab wound and the paramedics fought to save his life, but unfortunately he died, says Kurt Marklund, officer on duty at police region East.
A man was arrested shortly after midnight and is now suspected of, initially, murder.
– Since it happened outdoors, there should be plenty of witnesses to the incident and we are investigating it now, says Kurt Marklund.
