What kind of trick is this? You can reduce or even completely prevent falling damage with a well-timed melee attack.
In LEGO Fortnite there is the option to build a helpful glider that allows you to glide through the air like in The Legend of Zelda. However, this won’t be of much use to you if you fall into the depths unprepared and don’t have a glider equipped.
As user “yowiethebear” shows in a video on Reddit, you can reduce the fall damage you take by performing a melee attack while in the air. If your timing is right when executing the attack and you execute the attack shortly before impact, the damage can even be prevented completely.

Trick saves your life if you don’t have a glider
Is the trick really helpful? Yes! LEGO Fortnite is a survival game. So if you fall from a great height and die from fall damage, you will lose your entire inventory. You then have to collect it again, otherwise it will be lost.
LEGO Fortnite also gives you the opportunity to express your creativity by building buildings and even small cities. It is not uncommon for it to go high into the air.
For example, if you build a high tower from which you can travel to distant areas with your glider, it will quickly end in death. Namely if you fall into the depths while building and have not equipped your glider to be able to carry more materials for construction.
