Pet store gives free fish to customers: “A fantastic idea”

Pet store gives free fish to customers A fantastic idea

There are several pet stores around Sweden. You can usually buy food, sweets and toys for your pets in such stores, but in some places you can also buy a small animal home.

Common small animals to buy from pet stores are usually aquarium fish, reptiles, caged birds and rodents such as gerbils and hamsters.

At Zoomarket in Visby, the staff are now giving away free fish to all customers who want some, while stocks last. Something that seems to be appreciated by several customers.

You should never do that to your dog – according to the vet: “It hurts”

In a Facebook post, the staff say that they accidentally clicked home a large quantity of dried fish in bulk, without thinking first.

The idea was that customers would be able to buy the fish as something to chew on for their four-legged pets, but once the delivery arrived, the staff realized that the stench of the fish was unbearable.

Bought the fish home in “a weak moment”

On its Facebook page, the pet store writes that they are now giving away all fish for free.

“Oops! Sometimes they go fast when ordering and the brain doesn’t always have time to think about step two! In a weak moment, it felt like a fantastic idea and fun to be able to offer to our four-legged customers. Then it came, the smell. You know like in a cartoon when a green loop comes flying and right after that comes the gag reflex. Dried fish in bulk is therefore not something we will offer, but we currently have a large bag that we will place outside our entrance door and for those of you who do not have a sense of smell or are old fishermen where the smell does not bother you, go ahead and try it for your dog or why not the cat”, writes the pet store in a Facebook post.

The box with the fish is outside the entrance doors and is open to anyone who wants to take it.

The customers thank you for the fish

Several customers seem very happy with the dried fish and tell us that their pets like to nibble on a dried fish.

“Walther thanks for the fish!”.

“Oh my German Shepherd would have loved it but unfortunately lives in Skåne…”.

“My dogs love dried fish..the smell has to be put up with for some you love (the dogs). I wish I lived close by, I would have gladly picked it up”.
