The king is dead, long live the king…. Pelé, suffering from colon cancer for more than a year, died on December 29 at the age of 82. The Brazilian football legend, winner of three World Cups (1958, 1962, 1970), revolutionized the history of football during his 21-year career with his club Santos and the Selecao. His style of play and his career continue to command admiration and respect from all generations of players who have succeeded him.
