The Israeli military (IDF) writes in a statement that the pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas is being extended. The aim is to give the mediators more time.

Mediator Qatar and Hamas confirm that the break will be extended on Thursday.

Shortly before the deadline to extend the six-day pause in the war between Israel and Hamas expired at 7 a.m. local time, there was no settlement.

Hamas claimed earlier during the night that Israel has rejected a proposal that seven women and children be released from the hostages, as well as the bodies of three hostages, writes the Times of Israel.

The newspaper writes that Israel’s bid has been that ten women and children from the hostages should be released, in order for the ceasefire to be extended by one day.
