Instead of an ambulance, a recumbent transport was ordered which would arrive an hour later. The man’s partner then chose to drive him to the emergency room at Sunderby Hospital in Luleå, where both blood poisoning and kidney failure were diagnosed, according to the Ivo report.
The man was moved from the emergency room to the intensive care unit, but he died the following day.
