Palworld developers warn of dangerous fraudsters who are exploiting the hype surrounding the Steam hit

The success of Palworld also brought mobile app developers to the scene, but now the developers of the Steam hit are warning about scammers and the security of your personal information.

What’s the deal with mobile fraudsters? Palworld is a huge hit on Steam, breaking records for various AAA titles. Since its release, the survival game has already captivated 19 million players, 12 million of them on Steam alone.

Of course, the success also attracts some mobile developers who want their piece of the pie – even if it’s not their pie.

Mobile apps for Palworld are occasionally appearing that are intended to help you play in some way, but it is precisely these apps that the developers of the Steam hit are now warning about.

What do the Palworld developers say? In a post on X.com, the developers write that there is no Palworld app. Any application that has Palworld in its name is not connected to Pocketpair, the development studio behind Palworld.

The developers also warn against downloading these apps as they say it can lead to fraud or sharing of your personal information stored on your smartphone.

There is no Palworld application for smartphone. Apps with names and product images such as “パルワールド” and “Palworld” appear in the AppStore and Google Play, but they are in no way affiliated with our company.

We have reported this issue to Apple, the operator of the App Store, and Google, the operator of Google Play.

Please note that downloading these apps may result in the sharing of personal information stored on your smartphone or fraud.

Third-party apps for Palworld are available for German users in both the App Store and Google Play. However, as can be read in the X.com post, Pocketpair has already contacted Google and Apple.

Palworld is currently only playable on Steam and Xbox. There is no mobile version of the survival game, nor are there any official companion apps from Pocketpair.

Things are also looking bleak for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 at the moment. So far there is no information about a release on the two consoles: Palworld: Is the game coming out for PS5 and Nintendo Switch?
