Palworld CEO notes that in China they are working on clones with 10 times larger budgets

Most people probably know that Palworld has become a huge success. So it’s no wonder that new games are now in the works that are based on the successful game.

What are these clones? There are currently several games in the works that are based on Palworld. One thing is particularly promising: “Auroria” from the Chinese developer Tianjin Wumai Technology, which belongs to Tencent. It was recently announced that a budget of 10 billion yen was planned for the game. That’s 10 times more than Palworld’s, the CEO revealed on X (formerly Twitter).

Takuro Mizobe, the CEO of Palworld, also announced on X that a large number of games like Palworld would also be released for mobile devices next year.

The CEO is happy about the competition

How does the CEO feel about the clones? Here’s where it gets interesting: The CEO expressed himself somewhat ambiguously in his post on X (formerly Twitter). Several media outlets picked up on his post as a negative comment against Tencent because he backed up his words with three points at certain points. This was probably seen as a negative tone.

In the meantime, CEO Takuro Mizobe has made it clear that he is looking forward to competition from China and that this will lead to innovation.

It makes me proud that other companies want to develop games like Palworld. The industry has historically innovated when we borrow ideas from games we love.

The CEO also made it clear again in a third post on

Do the clones even have a chance? Yes, the clones can also be good games and since Palworld doesn’t offer anything on the mobile market, some companies will certainly try to close the gap for the many mobile players. Especially in Asia, many people only play on their smartphones.

The competitor Auroria, which was discussed at the beginning, could also be a success. According to Steam, it will be released in the second quarter of this year and will be more reminiscent of Satisfactory, with spaceships and futuristic designs.

Not only are other games bringing innovations to the “monster collecting and breeding” genre, but also Palworld itself. They have announced a new game mode for the summer: Palworld is showing a new arena mode, reminiscent of one of the best Pokémon games from the 90s
