The Finnish men’s national football team’s June National League match will culminate on Tuesday when Huuhkajat joins Bosnia-Herzegovina as a guest of Zenica, which has become familiar in recent years. The previous meeting of the teams just over a week ago in Helsinki ended in disappointment when Bosnia rose to the levels Smail Prevljakin last minute hit. Finland was victorious for a long time Teemu Pukin but the match ended 1-1.

On the other hand, the previous encounter of the teams in the World Cup qualifiers in November will not be much forgotten.

    – Last time we even gave them a handicap when we played with ten. If this time we played evenly until the end, wouldn’t the game stay smooth and turn our favor with Finnish content, Captain? Lukas Hradecky laughed.

Jukka Raitala took the lead 37 minutes into the game, making the score 1 – 0 after some elegant movement down the middle Marcus Forssin with paint. Before that, Pukki had failed in the penalty kick.

Finland played just under the whole second period, but Robin Lod and Daniel O’Shaughnessy however, succeeded in scoring. There were therefore no events in the match.

To correct an “accident at work”

In the League of Nations, Finland lost their previous match to Romania on Saturday. Captain Hradecky watched the Romanian match from the bench as he took responsibility for the defense Jesse Joronen. Joronen stretched wonderfully George Puscasin on the way to a penalty kick, but had to surrender a quarter later.

Hradecky appointed Nicusor Bancun paint for an accident at work.

    – It wasn’t a bad match, it was a mature away match and we seem to be a little ahead statistically, at least as far as Rive (head coach Markku Kanerva) listed. Romania had a hard start in the block, but it’s not a bad team. A small accident at work that their paint came, we are trying to fix it against Bosnia.

There are no bets on Tuesday’s match, because despite the loss to Romania, Finland has the opportunity to rise to the top of the block.

    – Whenever we lose, we immediately try to reverse the course. We know the stakes of the match and also that Bosnia made it to the last minute in Helsinki. We want revenge in our own way, we want points and we need them to keep the dream of A-League alive, Hradecky emphasized.

The winners of the B-League will advance to the A-League in the League of Nations.

    Changes in the permit

There has been a lot of talk about a close match pace in the context of the League of Nations. Finland will only face Bosnia after two days of rest, and there will be a total of four matches in eleven days.

    – I hope the players don’t think that this is suddenly over and they will soon be able to take a vacation and calm down, the head coach Kanerva comments.

The ref is taking no bull today and O’Shaughnessy is booked for complaining. The injury was revealed in the descriptions as a fracture of the skin.

Marcus Forss was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field Lassi Lappalainen became ill as a corona from the beginning of the week.

Some players have played significantly more than others. One of the players with less playing time is playing in the offensive role in midfield. Onni Valakariwho has been playing for 24 minutes.

    – I haven’t been happy with my playing time, of course I’d like to play more. I feel I can give more. But that is the coach’s decision, and it must be respected, Valakari commented.

Head coach Kanerva refused to disclose what changes are promised.

Kanerva hopes that a clear improvement over the Romanian game will be in the finish. Twice hit against Montenegro Joel at the Northern Fire was in place, as was Robin Lodilla, but no goals were scored.

    – The balls need to be put in a bag and correspondingly your own head needs to be defended better. In the light of the statistics, the scoring places went roughly even and we got Ball Control. The pretty essential thing is hacking: how can we break in more effectively. There have been clips here, yes we will find the drugs, Kanerva believed.

    Wingbacks in review

One place where changes are likely to be promised is the site of the wingbacks. Jere Uronen and Nikolai Alho started last against Bosnia, and Montenegro was in the match again Albin Granlundin and Ilmari Niskasen turn. On Saturday, Uronen and Alho again took responsibility.

Sports Expert Jarkko Wiss reminds you to work on the field.

    – Wingback’s position is one of the most physically demanding in modern football. If you think about the load during the games, you have to run a lot of miles. There are a lot of high-intensity runs, which means that the place requires good speed endurance properties.

Finland has almost no clean wingbacks.

    – Some have clearly profiled themselves as wing defenders, like Jere Uronen and then there are former wingers. It will be interesting to see who is coming, Wiss throws and raises HJK’s young man, for example Miska Ylitolvan.

See the graphic below for a comparison of the characteristics of Finnish wingbacks. The story continues after the graphics.

Wiss reminds that the image of the match determines the choices made by Owls for which match.

    – Is there a need for offensive wingbacks, is it in control of the game, is it possible to play more in the offensive third, or is the expectation that we will have to defend more without a ball, should there be more defensive capabilities.

Alho and Niskanen are clearly more offensive options, while Granlund and Uronen offer a more defensive option.

    – Alho clearly has the training of a winger, which can be seen, for example, in key passes. For example, when entering Pohjanpalus, he was in the last line, able to break the line with his own movement, and took the initiative to the depths. In one-on-one situations, he dares to challenge and occasionally get past him. On the other hand, there have also been mistakes in my own head, Wiss lists.

Wiss, on the other hand, describes the male as a more classic wing defender.

    – He relies more on concentrating the old model. If we remember Pohjanpalo’s goal from the European Championships, it was a fantastic focus for Urosen. He may not get one against one threat in the last third. To get the ball delivered to the box through him would require a bit of a quick combination of patterns through which to play him higher free.

Ilmari Niskanen played full minutes against Montenegro. Like Alho, he has training as a winger.

    – I longed for more one-on-one successes and thus better quality ball production, whether it was concentrating or feeding in the back area for the best goal-scoring sector.

Granlund, who played as a deputy at last summer’s European Championships, played 79 minutes against Montenegro and received praise from Wiss for his performance.

    – As Albin himself says, he is more likely to be a defender. I think he did very well in that match. He may not have been such a threat in the last line, but otherwise performed well. Albin is perhaps the most defensively oriented of these players, which was reflected in certain ball loss situations in the upper area, he was quickly making four lines downstairs and in that he is a very Conscientious player.

In the Bosnian match, Wiss hopes that more concentration will be seen in Finland and that the wingbacks would dare to get up harder.

    – One wingback would center and the other would end the attack on the goal.

More on the Wingbacks in Tuesday’s broadcast. Bosnia and Herzegovina – Finland on Tuesday, 14 June at 21.45, the broadcast on TV2 and Arena will start at 21.15.
