OnePlus launches its top-of-the-range 10 Pro 5G smartphone, in China only … for now

OnePlus launches its top of the range 10 Pro 5G smartphone in China

Almost a year after the release of OnePlus 9, the Chinese manufacturer has just announced its successor. No OnePlus 10 for the moment, but a high-end model, the 10 Pro, which benefits from the continuation of the partnership with the Hasselblad photo specialist.

Thus, the OnePlus 10 Pro has a triple rear camera module with a 48-megapixel wide-angle, an ultra-wide-angle of 50 megapixels (viewing angle up to 150 °), and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. The sensors record the colors on 10 bits instead of 8 bits, which allows to have a 25% increase in the coverage of the color gamut compared to the DCI-P3 standard, used for digital cinema.
The three rear sensors can also take pictures in 12-bit RAW format using Hasselblad Pro mode. The OnePlus 10 Pro also has a RAW + format which records even more information.

We can see in the photo below that the arrangement of the lenses is different from that of the OnePlus 9 Pro.

The smartphone also has video mode Movie which adjusts ISO, shutter speed and white balance before and during shooting.

The screen of the OnePlus 10 Pro is not to be outdone. As for the 9 Pro model, the manufacturer opts for a 6.7-inch QHD + panel, capable of offering a display frequency of up to 120 Hz depending on use. But, this is a second generation LTPO OLED panel, more energy efficient. In addition, the screen has been calibrated to deliver precise and natural colors for two different light levels: high and low.

To animate its smartphone, OnePlus opts for the very recent SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, with 5G modem. The device has up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The manufacturer also relies on very fast charging with its 80 W SuperVOOC Flash Charge wired technology – the charger is included. He announces that the 5,000mAh battery can be fully recharged in just 32 minutes.
In comparison, the OnePlus 9 Pro also took 32 minutes but to recharge a 4,500 mAh battery, with a 65 W charger.
The OnePlus 10 Pro also features the AirVOOC 50W wireless flash charge, with a full charge in 47 minutes.
It remains to be seen whether the manufacturer has improved the autonomy of its smartphone, which is not always optimal on the OnePlus 9 Pro according to our tests.
