Earlier Monday afternoon, one person was killed and four people were injured in a head-on collision in Oxford County.

An SUV and a vehicle collided at about 1:15 pm on Hofstetter Road in Blandford-Blenheim north of the town of Plattsville, Oxford OPP said.

The driver of the vehicle died in hospital, police said.

The driver of the SUV and three children were taken to hospital, one child by air ambulance, with injuries not considered life threatening, police said.

The identity of the driver who died is being withheld while police notify family.

Hofstetter Road was closed between Oxford/Waterloo Road and Township Road 14 while police investigate the crash.
