In autumn 2021, the three-part zombie series based on the South Korean hit Train to Busan was launched in one edition for the first time on the German market. It was only sold out in places. The Special Edition offers all three films on Blu-ray in their own digipak, plus a 40-page booklet, an unpublished making-of, 12 postcards and a serialized certificate of authenticity.
According to Splendid, the edition is limited to just 1,500 pieces, making it particularly attractive for the home cinema collection.
What is the zombie trilogy about?
The zombie action film Train to Busan, which was released in 2016, is one of the most successful South Korean films in recent years. The story of a fund manager forced to realign his priorities as a zombie apocalypse unfolds is richer driving action and targeted social criticism.
The animated prequel Seoul Station was released shortly before the theatrical release of the Korean blockbuster depicts the first hours of the zombie apocalypsewhen an injured homeless man drew attention in a subway station.
The Train to Busan sequel entitled Peninsula followed in 2020, which may not match the quality of the original, but at least impresses with its pace and lots of zombie action. With this you get a horror thriller, an animated film and a blockbuster zombie film in one box.
