Oil prey to volatility on the Emirates case

(Finance) – United Arab Emirates out of OPEC? This is the question circulating in the last few hours that has kept investors in suspense and oil prices in the throes of volatility. WTI oil at the Nymex came to lose more than two percentage points.

The first rumors circulated were those of the Wall Street Journal, according to which UAE could leave OPECthe organization of the major producers, per differences with Saudi Arabia. Subsequently, these rumors were reduced by international agencies, from Reuters to Bloomberg, explaining that Abu Dhabi has no intention of leaving the cartel, citing some sources. The departure of the Arab countries from the scene would jeopardize the power of OPEC on world markets.

The WTI extension, delivered in April, recovered 79 dollars a barrel and is now trading at 79.21 dollars (+1.35%). The Brent in London it is back to 85 dollars a barrel.
