Octopath Traveler is making a comeback with the release of its second installment. The long-awaited RPG will land on Switch in a few days.

Led by Square Enix, this project marked the early years of the Nintendo Switch by offering role-playing game fans a modern entry into the genre and securing global success. The arrival of a sequel was beyond doubt, and it is therefore this week that we can expect the release of Octopath Traveler 2. We tell you everything.
By looking at these first images, you will have understood that Octopath Traveler 2 does not intend to move away from the formula which made the success of its predecessor. By presenting us once again with a vast and terribly familiar fantasy world, always with a unique 16-bit design, the game invites us to set off on a new adventure once again bringing together eight different narrative arcs. These eight characters that you can choose to meet in turn in the order you want, represent the well-known archetypes of traditional medieval-fantasy role-playing games, which have long since become staples of pop culture. Enough to satisfy all fans of the turn-based RPG genre and more, and an almost guaranteed success for Acquire, Square Enix and Nintendo.
Awaited for four years now by a community of players as vast as it is passionate, Octopath Traveler 2 will be released in France and around the world on February 24th. An event release for a whole venerable section of gaming, and one more advantage in the sleeve of a Nintendo Switch which always knows how to resist the new generations of game consoles. It will also be necessary to closely monitor this novelty which risks to be a real little bomb, and which will offer a little magic to Nintendo Switch players, deprived of Hogwarts Legacy until July 2023.

The game is available for €59.99, a relatively high price for a Nintendo Switch release, even when you recognize the quality of the Octopath Traveler series. A price increase that follows that of games on other platforms for a few months.
