Denaro, believed to be the leader of the Sicilian Cosa Nostra, has for three decades been the most wanted person in Italy. He was arrested on Monday at a private hospital in Palermo, Sicily.
The mafia boss is accused, among other things, of involvement in several attacks committed by Cosa Nostra in 1993 and countless murders. He is also said to have been involved in the bombing that in 1992 claimed the lives of prosecutor Giovanni Falcone and his colleague Paolo Borsellino.
