Norwegian twins Marcus and Martinus were chosen as Swedens Eurovision

The brothers, who went into the race as pre-favorites, clearly collected the most points.

A duo formed by Norwegian twins Marcus & Martinus won the one held in Sweden on Saturday Melodifestivalen song contest and therefore represents the country in Eurovision.

The name of the song that took the victory with clear points is Unforgettable. The song, which was considered a pre-favorite, received a total of 177 points from international judges and the public. The runner-up Medina the song Que Sera scored more than 70 points less. It is not the first time that the winner of Melodifestivalen is a Norwegian artist. The last time something similar happened in 1982 after the band Chips won the competition.

22 year old brothers Marcus and Martinus Gunnarsen despite their young age, are already big names in the music world, as they made their breakthrough more than ten years ago. They participated in Melodifestivalen last year as well, but came second that time For Loreenwhich eventually also won the Eurovision Song Contest.

The annual Melodifestivalen acts as Sweden’s qualifying competition for the Eurovision Song Contest. The Eurovision Song Contest will be held this year on May 11 in Malmö, Sweden.
