Three UN observers and an interpreter have been injured in an explosion in southern Lebanon. There are reports that it was a shell from Israel that exploded, but they have not been confirmed.

The small observer group from the UN force UNIFIL was on foot patrol near the Israeli border when the explosion occurred. The observers were from Australia, Chile and Norway, and were accompanied by a Lebanese interpreter.

– We can confirm that a Norwegian UN observer is slightly injured, and is now in hospital, says Norwegian defense spokesperson Hanne Olafsen to the Norwegian Dagbladet.
