Norway stopped Dejan Kulusevski on the field.
But outside, coach Ståle Solbakken had all the more difficulty with the Swedish star.
Janne Andersson was clear before the last national team gathering before the summer break. Sweden would completely change and test a different and more offensive game system.
Stopped Kulusevski
The “new” Sweden had four matches to hone the completely new game model, and it got really tough for blue and yellow. Three losses in four fighters – and Sweden had problems both defensively and offensively.
Not only were there three losses, two of these came, within a week, against “little brother” Norway. The Nordic rival washed over Sweden, stopped Sweden’s stars ahead and found gaps in the defensive game.
Before the matches, a lot was about in Norway how they would stop Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski – something they succeeded with.
The mockery of Solbakken
Solbakken had all the more difficulty getting to the rhetoric with Kulusevski off the field, and now the Norwegian coach is mocked by the domestic media.
It is the magazine VG that has cut together a clip, which can be seen below, every time Solbakken says Dejan Kulusevski’s name wrong, and it is a dozen times before the coach really gets to it – of which he gets a few encouraging words.
Then you wonder… How difficult can it really be?
