Sebastian Samuelsson has aroused strong opinions in Norway.
For his inappropriate behavior during the national anthem.

It was Norway in first, second, third, fourth and fifth place in the men’s pursuit start during the Biathlon World Cup. And despite a sixth place got Sebastian Samuelsson step into the flower ceremony, together with five other Norwegians.

“Sebbe” also raised strong opinions in Norway after the ceremony due to his inappropriate behavior. The Norwegians did not appreciate at all that Samuelsson did not show enough respect when the national anthem was played.
Sebbe’s behavior
Above all Tarjei Bö was clearly irritated and let the Swede hear his irritation. When Sebastian Samuelsson refused to take off his cap when the Norwegian national anthem was played.
– I’m a little disappointed in him for that. I’m a little unsure of which rules apply, but surely you should take off your hat when the national anthem is played? In any case, I will do it if there is a Swedish national anthem here at the World Cup, says Bö to the evening newspaper and sends a clear call to the Swedish rival.
– You have to take off your clothes… what is it called in Swedish? “The hat”? Off with the hat, Sebbe!

But Samuelsson, who stands next to him in the mixed zone, has no plans to do that.
– Not for the Norwegian national anthem, Sebbe replies coldly and admits that not even the Swedish national anthem can make him take off his head.
– If even then. I’ve never really understood that stuff. Even though it’s plus degrees here, it gets cold if you take off the hat, so I keep it on.

Also Sturla Holm Laegreid enters the debate and promises that he will send the lyrics to Norway’s national anthem “Ja, vi elsker dette landet”. So that Samuelsson can learn the words and sing along.
