Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre says that the country will send military support worth several billion Norwegian kroner to Ukraine. The information to the Norwegian VG is provided by the prime minister on a visit to Germany.

– The government wants to increase support for Ukraine. This could mean an increase in the total framework for the Nansen programme, says the prime minister, referring to an earlier agreement on a support package of 75 billion Norwegian kroner – the equivalent of 74 billion kroner – over a five-year period to Ukraine.

Gahr Støre meets German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) to discuss a joint initiative on air defense support to Ukraine. The initiative is called IAAD (Immediate Action on Air Defense).

Also present is the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
