Utrecht residents do not like border controls between EU countries. These have no longer existed since the creation of the Schengen area in 1995, but almost half of Dutch people would like to see border controls reintroduced to reduce immigration. In Drenthe, Limburg, North Brabant and Zeeland there is even a majority in favor.
