Nine out of ten have access to the 5G network

Eight years ago, the government set the goal that all of Sweden, “where you normally find yourself”, should have access to stable mobile services of good quality by 2023. That goal has not been achieved.

According to a report from PTS on the expansion, mobile coverage reaches 95 percent of the designated areas. It is mainly along major roads and heavily trafficked railways that coverage is lacking.

The government also set the goal that all of Sweden should have access to fast broadband by 2025.

One of the intermediate goals – that 98 percent of households and businesses in Sweden should have access to fiber or broadband with a speed of 1 gigabit per second in their absolute vicinity – has been fulfilled since last year.
