Modo suspends its own player Josef Ingman due to filming.
It makes TV profiler Niklas Wikegård break his nine-month silence.

The weekend’s summit meeting in the HockeyAllsvenskan between the big clubs Modo and Djurgården was eventful and full of drama to say the least. The big talking point in hockey Sweden has become Josef Ingmans action twice during the match.
Modo acts
Modobacken has received a lot of attention because we filmed and reinforced situations on two different occasions to deceive the referee team. A behavior that is not at all appreciated in hockey and the criticism has been enormous.

Ingman risks being fined by the disciplinary committee, but regardless of what their verdict is, Modo is also acting. The Allsvenskan top club has taken the decision to put its foot down against all forms of filming and suspends Ingman in a league match.

Wikegård’s words
The tough decision now goes to the C More expert Niklas Wikegård to break his nine-month silence. The TV profile went out in May 2022 and announced that he would stop using Instagram to give personal opinions and analyzes about Swedish hockey directly to his followers.

But now he can’t hold back any longer and must give his honest verdict on Modo’s actions towards Ingman.
– I’m breaking the social silence on Instagram, it just made my fingers itch. But what is happening today is so incredibly big. What Modo is doing is saying that this is not Modo, it does not match our values or what we stand for as an association, he says in a video on Instagram, see the full video below.

Wikegård openly praises Modo and their brave decision to shut down Ingman. And he’s really clear about how much he hates filming in hockey.
– He (Ingman) must be ashamed of the whole of hockey Sweden, of course he is not alone, but there are many people filming. There are hundreds doing this shit. But I’m so proud now and I love Modo Hockey. Modo puts every foot down and says that this is not something you want to deal with. End of discussion. We don’t film at our place!, he says in the video, see it below.

Niklas Wikegård now hopes that Modo’s actions will make waves and inspire other hockey clubs in Sweden.
– I hope so much that this spills over to other teams in the SHL, other series and down to the junior teams. We do NOT film in Swedish hockey! We must pay tribute to those who stood on their feet. The good examples. We must pay tribute to Börje Salming, says the TV profile.
