Nicklas Bäckström is one of Sweden’s biggest hockey stars, and his qualities in the NHL can not be questioned. But this season was heavy for him, as he missed many games due to his hip injury.

In the playoffs, for example, there were only six matches, and in the regular season only 47 of a total of 82. Bäckström has for many years had problems with his hip, and he says that he plays with pain every time the Capitals are in close matching.
According to reports in the USA, Bäckström will be forced to undergo surgery during the summer if he is to be able to continue playing regularly and at the highest level, but the contract is active until 2025. But Bäckis has also been open for a long time that he wants to end his career in Sweden and Brynäs , the team he broke through into 15 years ago.

And nothing has changed in time as the hip has become more and more complicated. To Hockeypuls, Bäckis says that he is happy to return home to Brynäs as long as his hips are up.
– Yes, but if it feels good, there is a chance. But you also have to look at it realistically. I do not want to come home in pain and not be able to contribute and play at the level I want. We will see how it goes with everything, he says.
Bäckström says that he follows Brynäs closely, and that he also has a lot of contact with the club’s sports director.
– Yes, I actually have good contact with Johan Alcén. We hear from and discuss a lot. So I’m hanging out pretty carefully.
Hockeypuls also writes that there is an opportunity for Bäckström to help Brynäs in other ways in the future, if it were not now as a player.
