Frida Bratt: “Can provide a small supplement”

It may therefore be a good idea to now, a few weeks before you go on leave, try to scrape together some extra money for the holiday fund.

But what can you actually do to bring in a few extra thousand pounds? News24 asked Frida Bratt who is a savings economist at Nordnet Bank.

– You can, for example, clear storage and sell at flea markets or sites such as Tradera and Marketplace. Do you have a hobby that can make money, such as knitting, jam making, jewelry making or whatever? Many people use Tradera in particular to sell their products, which can perhaps provide a small supplement, she says and continues:

– Other things can of course be to take extra hours at work if it is possible or if there is an opportunity to work extra with something else on the side. It doesn’t work for everyone, but maybe for some. Do you have a home or room to rent out for a period of time?

But the most important thing, according to Bratt, is to save on expenses.

– Skip lunches out, park the car, stop shopping and do things that don’t cost much – like cycling to a beach and swimming with a packed lunch.
