Will The Creator really be any good? We still know very little about the sci-fi epic. But one thing is certain: it looks extremely good. And that’s no wonder: Rogue One director Gareth Edwards was in the director’s chair and he is known for big pictures (and thin stories).
In advance, The Creator was compared to probably the best sci-fi film of all time: Blade Runner. The industry magazine Deadline wrote after an initial insight, next to The Creator, Blade Runner would look like child’s play. What is The Creator about?
The fight between humans and the AI powers that were actually created to protect them has claimed many victims in the future after an atomic bomb struck 10 years ago in Los Angeles and sparked a war. Former Special Forces agent Joshua (John David Washington) is still mourning his wife when he is recruited to find and kill the “Creator”: the elusive architect of an advanced artificial intelligence. He is said to have developed a mysterious weapon that can forever end the struggle for supremacy between the two opposing sides.
