New trailer for MW3 shows what your CoD lobby would look like in real life if you were cool

In the new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 you can see what your lobby would look like in real life – at least if your squad just happened to consist of rappers, basketball players and CoD icons.

What kind of trailer is this? Almost 3 weeks before the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Activision shows a CoD lobby made up of cool people in a new trailer. The main character of the video is a young man named Carlos, who suddenly finds himself in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

The trailer, titled “The Lobby,” starts with Carlos activating a doorbell and then being asked his name by a man. Carlos seems unsettled, takes off his hood and takes a breath. He rings the bell again and then says his gamer name: Killswitch.

A team of rappers, CoD icons and NBA pros

Carlos enters a building and the music starts at the same time. You hear the song “Call me Revenge” by the rapper 21 Savage. Next to the name “Killswitch” the rank “Silver” and a KD of 0.9 are displayed. Carlos enters a lobby where various people are putting on their equipment. A timer running down can be seen in the background. The match starts in under a minute.

There are people in the lobby who seem to be waiting for matches – including CoD operator Ghost and a zombie. Doors point to well-known maps from MW2 such as Favela and Rust. You can hear conversations that will be familiar to Call of Duty players. A man asks a woman what she thinks of his bright yellow outfit. She replies, “I think it’s shouting ‘I’m here!'”

I’d be lying if I said the dialogue didn’t sound familiar. And that despite the fact that I don’t have an unusual skin, like that of a rapper with pink hair.

NBA pro Devin Booker appears and asks Carlos where his squad is. Carlos looks around, everyone seems busy. Suddenly CoD operator Valeria Garza calls him, grabs him by the collar and says: “Today is your lucky day, Chiquito.”

Then Carlos – or rather “Killswitch” – stands in front of his new squad, which includes rapper 21 Savage and CoD operator Valeria Garza. Shortly before the troops head into the match on the Highrise map, the slogan “There is a soldier in all of us” appears in the trailer.

What is the trailer supposed to show? According to Dot Esports, the trailer is a reminder of the iconic slogan. It shows that anyone can be a soldier in Call of Duty, regardless of whether they are a CoD player, rapper or in-game character.

Rappers 21 Savage and Central Cee, basketball player Devin Brooker and well-known faces from Call of Duty such as Ghost, Vladimir Makarov and Valeria Garza make appearances in the 2-minute trailer.

The upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 brings back 16 maps from 2009’s MW2. That alone certainly evokes nostalgic feelings in fans – as does another trailer for the game. There you will get an insight into the multiplayer.

The trailer presents shooter action, maps, operators, gadgets and various weapons:
