After receiving feedback about public transit, the County of Brant announced Friday that Via Transportation will take over operation of Brant Transit starting January 2.

Brant Transit will continue to operate as a shared ride service, meaning there may be multiple stops on the way to your destination when other people are sharing the ride.

The service takes people anywhere within the County of Brant, as well as between the City of Brantford and the county.
While fees and hours of operation will remain the same, users will need to download a new Brant Transit app and create a new account in order to book a ride.
A new online booking option will become available later in January, and a new phone number to book rides will be announced in the coming weeks, along with the launch date for the app.
Through the new app, riders will be able to book rides up to 14 days in advance, have the ability to track rides, and receive ride notification reminders prior to the arrival of the vehicle.
