New Peugeot 3008 photos engine price… First info on the

PEUGEOT 3008. The third opus of one of the flagship models of the lion brand will be presented at the start of the next school year. That’s all we already know about the new generation of the Peugeot 3008, the best-selling compact SUV on the French market.

Launched in 2016, the second generation Peugeot 3008 was a hit. Selling more than a million copies, it is by far the brand’s most profitable model, and its restyled version, released in 2020, has only consolidated its leadership in the very buoyant segment of Compact SUVs.

But to stay at the top, and in particular to face its many rivals, led by the very promising Renault Austral, the lion brand has been working for a long time on the third opus of its bestseller. Produced in France, in the historic Sochaux factory, the new 3008 is in the home stretch of its design. Find below all the known information about the new version of the best-selling SUV in France!

After the big success of the second generation 3008, expectations around its successor, the Peugeot 3008 III, are bound to be high. The lion brand, under the orders of its chief designer Matthias Hossann, inducted in 2020 after the departure of Gilles Vidal at Renault, was not satisfied with a bland copy and paste on its most “bankable” model. Here are the main new features to know.

  • The new 3008 will be a little longer than its predecessor. The difference in size will not be significant, but the new version will measure 4.50 meters in length, six centimeters more than the 4.44m of the second generation.
  • Praised when the 3008 II was released in 2016, the design of the new version has been renewed in an even more dynamic style. The body lines of the 3008 III will be more refined. This is all the more marked at the rear of the car with the reduction in the size of the window and its more pronounced inclination, which gives the new 3008 the appearance of a coupe SUV (like the Renault Arkana ). Always at the rear, the Peugeot brand should be written in full between the projectors. The Argus has published several drawings of what our colleagues imagine about this new 3008.
  • On the front of the vehicle, the new 3008 will adopt the light signature with three LED claws placed under the lights, a new design inaugurated on the restyled version of the Peugeot 508. The new coat of arms of the Peugeot coat of arms, with a restyled lion’s head , will be visible in the center of the grille, still just as slender, as well as on the rims and fenders of the vehicle depending on the range.
  • In the passenger compartment, so little information has leaked about the interior layout which may not undergo huge changes, we already know that the 3008 III will be equipped, like the most recent models of the brand, with a new generation multi-screen i-cockpit. The new multimedia system and its more modern screen, supported by a touchpad with configurable icons, will offer more pleasure to the driver (and passengers). The small steering wheel will always be in order, the brand believing that its association with the head-up handset offers optimal driving comfort.

Diesel lovers will have to mourn: the new Peugeot 3008 will no longer offer any diesel engine. A fairly logical choice in view of the current environmental policy, the manufacturer thus reducing its internal combustion engine to a single petrol unit, the entry-level model of which will be equipped with a 1.2 l Puretech 3-cylinder 136 hp engine.
The SUV will also exist in a plug-in hybrid version with the combination of the combustion engine with an electric motor for which two powers should be available (180 hp and 225 hp). Finally, and this is the great novelty, the 3th generation of the Peugeot 3008 will be available in 100% electric. The e-3008 will be offered with one or two motors (one at the front and one at the rear), for an estimated autonomy, according to the power of the batteries designed in Douvrin (North), between 400 and 700 kilometers, which is very promising but to be verified in use.

The 3th generation of the 3008 will be revealed in September 2023, six months before its scheduled launch at the end of the first quarter of 2024, probably in March.

The entry-level price for a petrol Peugeot 3008 is currently displayed at 35,320 euros by the manufacturer. It will be necessary to pay a little more to afford its little brother whose starting price is estimated between 37,000 and 40,000 euros. For comparison, the Renault Austral, released last year, currently sells from 35,000 euros. The plug-in hybrid version will obviously cost more, probably around 45,000 euros. We can expect a similar starting price for the future e-3008, which will logically benefit from government aid (up to 7,000 euros maximum to date).
