Chinese scientists announced that they have developed a new Kovid-19 test that gives accurate results in just four minutes. It was noted that the tested test gave correct results.
According to the study published in the journal Nature Biomedical Engineering, researchers from Fudan University in Shanghai stated that they have developed microelectronic sensors to analyze genetic material from swabs, and thanks to these sensors, the need for time-consuming Kovid-19 tests can be reduced.
ACCURATE DETECTION IN 4 MINUTES
The researchers stated that they integrated an electromechanical biosensor into a portable prototype device for the detection of Sars-CoV-2, which causes Kovid-19, and emphasized that the device detects the virus in four minutes.
It was stated that the developed test was tested on 33 people who caught Kovid-19 in Shanghai, and the results were fully compatible with the previous PCR tests performed on these people. It was stated that the test was also performed on 54 people who showed symptoms of fever and flu but did not have Kovid-19, and there were no “false positive” results here either.
Researchers from Fudan University stated that thanks to the new test, a reliable result was achieved in just 4 minutes.
The scientists emphasized that their method offers speed, ease of use, high sensitivity and portability. (AA)
