Something has detonated in a residence in Hässelby villastad in northwest Stockholm. It is the second in Hässelby in just one week.
This morning’s detonation has sparked a fire that has spread to adjacent homes. Emergency services and police are on the scene.
– It is a row of terraced houses, so several homes have been evacuated and as I understand it, it has spread to one or more houses, says police spokesperson Mats Eriksson.
None of those evacuated are said to be physically injured.
The alarm about a strong bang came in at 06:28. The incident is classified as public-dangerous devastation.
– The whole house shook, says a resident in the area to Expressen.
The explosion is the second in Hässelby in a week. On Monday evening last week, three people were injured in connection with a powerful explosion in an apartment building in Hässelby strand.
