A new crisis broke out between Russia and the USA. Following the statement made by Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa regarding his decision to transfer the Russian equipment they have to the USA, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mariya Zaharova said that Russian equipment cannot be transferred to the USA without their permission and that there are contracts for this.
Following the statement made by Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa regarding his decision to transfer Russian equipment to the USA last month, Russia responded. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mariya Zakharova, in her statement at the press conference today, reminded that Russian equipment cannot be transferred to the USA without their permission and that there are contracts for this.
“Our partners are aware of the contractual provisions, including the obligation to use the provided assets for the specified purposes and not to transfer them to third parties without the approval of Russia,” Zakharova said.
Reacting to Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa’s description of the Russian military equipment they have as “scrap”, Zaharova said, “If the Russian equipment were scrap as Ecuador claims, Washington would not offer them high-cost modern equipment in return. “We hope Ecuador is aware of this,” she said.
In his statement last month, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa described the Russian equipment in their possession as “scrap”. Noboa also stated that he would accept an offer from Washington to exchange Russian equipment for $200 million worth of advanced US equipment.
