After meeting certain requirements in the main story, players will be able to reach Fontaine from the Sumeru region using a waypoint that provides an easy passage.
A world full of New NPCs and gadgets in Genshin Impact 4.0
HoYoverse has published a HoYoLab blog post regarding the upcoming update of Genshin Impact version 4.0. Upon arrival in Fontaine, players will be able to take on new side quests by talking to non-human Melusine NPCs and human NPCs. While exploring Fontaine Court, Player and Paimon will meet Euphrasie, the editor-in-chief of the publication “The Steambird.”
Euphrasie will do a demo of Fontaine and offer players the opportunity to win new rewards and gadgets. These new devices include a new glider, Crystal Fly Trap, and Wind Powered Wind Generator. The Crystal Fly Trap allows players to easily catch Crystal Flies after placing certain supplies, and the Wind Powered Wind Generator provides a quick way for players to take off with a glider from any point.

The new devices that come with Genshin Impact 4.0 significantly enrich the gaming experience. New devices help players complete missions more quickly and efficiently, while some devices provide quick access to areas to explore.
New region and player experience
The new blog post also highlights how to enter the new region for the first time. All Genshin Impact players will be able to enter the Fontaine realm after completing the Divine Mission Entry and unlocking a Sumeru waypoint in the Farakhkert Realm. After teleporting to the Farakhkert Realm, it will be possible to reach Fontaine using a nearby Waverider waypoint. Players can also reach Romaritime Port, one of Fontaine’s main ports.
Genshin Impact version 4.0 will be released on August 16, so players have only one week left to explore the Veluriyam Mirage region and earn special rewards. When version 4.0 is released, Veluriyam Mirage and most of the content of version 3.8 will no longer be available in the game.
