Casting that wealth into an appropriate form will be one of the major tasks of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece. Of countless villains in the pirate saga, at least 12 are said to appear in the first season. Who is included?

Alvida (Ilia Isorelýs Paulino) is one of the first antagonists Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his crew encounter. She is a choleric commander who treats her enemies as subordinates likes to be treated to their morning star.

Buggy (Jeff Ward) is an iconic villain from the early One Piece storyline. The clown pirate terrorizes innocent villagers at first encounterresidents and is extremely sensitive because of his red nose.

Buggy’s crew also includes the arrogant acrobat Cabaji, who is played by Sven Ruygrok in the Netflix adaptation. In particular, the character takes on Luffy’s sword master Lorenor Zoro (Mackenyu) when they first meet.

One Piece favorite on Netflix: McKinley Belcher III plays Arlong

Arlong (McKinley Belcher III) is the absolute fan favorite among the 14 bad guys in the adaptation, as a ranking at CBR shows, for example. No wonder. Due to his cruelty, the blue fish-man is perhaps the first serious opponent for Luffy and Co. He considers people to be inferior and murdered Nami’s (Emily Rudd) mother.

Captain Morgan (Langley Kirkwood) is the first naval officer faced by Luffy’s pirates. He terrorizes his subjects, abuses his power and is cruel even to his own son Helmeppo.

Helmeppo is also set to appear in Netflix’s adaptation and will be played by Aidan Scott. The arrogant but at heart cowardly Marine serves as his father Morgan’s right hand man.

Monkey D. Garp is a famous naval vice admiral, well respected among soldiers and pirates alike. As it turns out later, he is Luffy’s grandfather. Although he does not approve of his privateer career, he is nevertheless proud of his grandson. He avoids pursuing him unless duty allows.

Luffy’s pirates meet Beauregard (Alexander Maniatis) when they first meet Usopp. Beauregard is the guardian of young Kaya (Celeste Loots), whom he tries to shield from contact with Usopp. As the conflict progresses a dark secret about the neatly dressed servant is revealed.

One Piece villains at Neflix: Jean Henry plays full body

Similar to Beauregard for Usopp, the encounter with the arrogant naval officer Fullbody (Jean Henry) primarily serves to introduce Cook Sanji to a future member of Luffy’s gang. Fullbody clashes with Sanji on the restaurant ship Baratie and learns a lesson from him.

Bonus creep: Smoker

One of the most popular contenders for bad guys in Season 1 the Netflix adaptation is Smoker, according to What’s on Netflix. The cast of the character is not yet clear. Smoker is a high-ranking naval officer and later Vice Admiral who wants to capture Luffy and his gang.
