We’ve seen other leaks that The Last of Us Part 3 is in development before, but this seems like the most logical time to get it right. Last we heard, the script was roughly done and the only thing holding back the creation of Part 3 was an engaging story.
The Last of Us brand has generated over a billion dollars in revenue so far. HBO’s The Last of Us will cover the entire series. Since video game development takes longer than a TV series, the next production may be announced along with or just after the second season of the series.
