Nasa sent a cat video to a space probe

The cat video successfully entered the sonar.

The US space agency Nasa has tested its communication system based on laser beams by sending a cat video to the Psyche probe in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, where the cat is chasing a laser beam on a sofa.

By sending broadband video to the sonar, we wanted to test the use of the laser for sending and receiving data. Generally, radio waves are used in space programs, but the amount of data transmitted with a laser can be increased up to a hundred times compared to radio waves.

– To make this important event even more memorable, we also wanted to make a funny video, said a NASA representative Bill Klipstein.

The cat video successfully landed on the probe, which was about 31 million kilometers from Earth at the time.
