It has long been known that The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal much less seen in front of the camera is than many Star Wars fans might think. For example, back in 2019, we reported that the lead actor wasn’t even on set in person for the fourth episode of season 1.

In a recent conversation, Pascal has now confirmed how his work on The Mandalorian went and why he is showing up less and less physically on set.

According to Collider, as a guest on the Drama Actors’ Roundtable, the Hollywood Reporter asked the actor if he really needed to be on the set of The Mandalorian that rarely. Pascal explained that he was the Star Wars character mostly lends his voiceafter initial attempts in The Mandalorian suit were too demanding:

There was a lot of experimentation, I was in a suit most of the time and honestly in the four months I was in, my body not completed this task. But I was in. For a considerable time. But now we’ve nailed it, which is super cool, and amazingly, it gave me an opportunity to do something different.

In front of the camera, Din Djarin is primarily played by Brendan Wayne, while Lateef Crowder performs the Star Wars character’s stunts. Pascal himself can always be seen when the protagonist has scenes with his helmet removed.

Production on Season 4 of The Mandalorian was supposed to start in September 2023. through the current one Hollywood strike the screenwriters will, however, delay this date indefinitely.
