The 37-year-old man who admitted to murdering his wife on the roof of a parking garage in Malmö can be sentenced to prison for the crime. A major forensic psychiatric examination shows that the man did not suffer from a serious mental disorder at the time of the crime on April 13 this year. He is also not considered to have been seriously mentally disturbed when the examination was carried out.

The woman is said to have received 24 stabs with a knife inside and outside the car when it was parked in the parking garage in the Stadium area in Malmö, according to Sydsvenskan.

The man is said to have remained on the roof for nearly two hours after the crime and made a few calls without telling them what happened. He is said to have also made searches on the internet about, among other things, “minimum punishment for murder in Sweden”, writes the newspaper.

In the end, he called a male acquaintance to the parking garage and after the friend called 112, the 37-year-old could be arrested on the spot by the police.

The trial against the man in Malmö district court will now resume and the hearing will end next week.
