Constancy beat explosiveness in the main event at UFC Las Vegas 51. Belal Muhammad won, by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46 and 48-47), Vicente Luque to look high in the welterweight. Fifth in the ranking, the winner asked for a chance against Covington. We will have to see the way in which the division is recomposed… but his name is a real and future option. He deserves it.
Muhammad is not a great finisher, but Luque isi. Therefore, the first decided to move constantly. He watched as his opponent brilliantly closed gaps with kicks and punches. When it happened the second way, Muhammad answered well. Once three minutes were up, he attempted a takedown which he pulled off. The plan was repeated in the second act and in the third, he tried it, but Muhammad was connected and had a hard time. He was floating for a while and could not dominate the same in the takedown. It was something momentary, because, although Luque tried, Muhammad had him very controlled. It was strange, as Luque failed to reverse his opponent’s plan. A pity for him and a joy for Muhammad who thus consecrates himself in the division.
