The MotoGP world championship does not rest. After the Italian and German Grands Prix, the drivers will have a third race in three weeks this weekend in the Netherlands. After seven rounds, Francesco Bagnaia, winner of three races including the one at Mugello a fortnight ago, is leading the world championship, 16 points ahead of Jorge Martin, like him on Ducati. The Spaniard remains a serious rival for the Italian in the race for the title, he remains on two second places during the Grands Prix of France and Italy and won last Sunday in Germany.
In the Netherlands, on the historic circuit of Assen, the two rivals will still act as big favorites. To challenge them for victory, Johann Zarco is clearly ranked as the number one outsider. The Frenchman remains on three podiums (three times 3rd) and is in fourth place in the world championship, 51 points behind Bagnaia. The Cannois, victim of a spectacular fall last weekend when Marc Marquez’s bike hit him in the middle of free practice, is still chasing his first victory in the premier category but seems closer than ever to achieve it.
If Johann Zarco is experiencing a prosperous period, the same cannot be said of Fabio Quartararo. The 2021 world champion is having a real difficult season and it was not his 13th place last Sunday at the Sachsenring that gave him a smile. The eighth round of the world championship, which will then take a break until August 6, will be a new opportunity for the Yamaha rider to get back on track.

The Dutch Motorcycle Grand Prix will be followed on Canal+, the usual broadcaster of the world championship.
