The parties point out that more than sixty accidents have occurred with trams in Nieuwegein since 2018. CDA Member of Parliament Gerdien Bikker: “The many accidents involving (young) cyclists, pedestrians, scooters and cars at the tram crossings are of concern to us. It is high time for action. We believe that the province should invest in safe tram crossings. That is why we have submitted this motion.”
