The Tour de Ski is over for this time.
But the final day had a bitter aftertaste.

The big highlight of the year for the cross-country skiers was the Tour de Ski. Now the mini-tour is over after Sunday’s final race in Alpe Cermis and the overall winner was the American Jessie Diggins.
The anger in Viaplay
But the final race with the tough climb had a bitter aftertaste and the finish was hit by a much talked about huge problem. Because during the men’s mass start, the graphics in the TV box messed up a lot and gave the wrong information several times.

Which really annoyed the Viaplay commentator Per Forsberg during the live broadcast. Several times during the race he had to remind the TV viewers that the graphics were showing errors.
– What is shown on television must be correct, otherwise there is no reason to publish it. It’s very strange, he says angrily to Expressen afterwards.
– I have to say on air that it is not true. Forget it, it’s not true. It becomes confusing for the viewers.
Ilar’s irritation
It is the technology company Swiss that supplies the graphics, and the row during the men’s end of the Tour de Ski was a huge hit. Moa Ilar also became very irritated and angry at the obvious mistakes that were repeated several times.
– We saw it in the boys’ race as well. When the virtual broadcast does not work, it is useless to run the mass start. You really have to think about that. Because we have no idea what applies. You don’t know anything, says an angry Ilar to the evening newspaper.

When the national team Swede has to sum up the entire Tour de Ski, there are several different parts that arouse anger within her.
– It has been a messy tour this year. I would review the travel schedule, what benefits the riders and what the audience wants to see. And a chase start at the end where the winner gets to cross the finish line, she admits in the interview and is supported by the commentator Forsberg.
– They are running a mass start for the fifth year in a row and I am still just as critical of it. The final chase start is the Tour de Ski for me. Back with it I think.
