The injury-plagued Colorado Avalanche’s two-game winning streak was snapped when they lost to the Buffalo Sabres, 2-4. Buffalo led the match after two periods 3–0, but Mikko Rantanen started the Colorado Kir in the ninth minute of the third period.

Valery Nitsuskin polik stepped into the attack zone and gave a cross pass to Rantanen, who passed Buffalo with his shot Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. The goal was Rantanen’s 20th of the season. Artturi Lehkonen made the service point hit.

Buffalo’s hero Luukkonen blocked 39 shots in the match.

– “Upi” was really good. We let him see a lot of shots. That was the real key to victory, the Buffalo head coach Don Granato said.

Evan Rodrigues brought Colorado within a goal, but it was a thin consolation, as the final readings hit Buffalo Dylan Cozens.

The Buffalo Star Tage Thompson ran away from Rantase and scored the opening goal of the match.

– I wasn’t awake. It’s hard to catch him from behind. He is also a good scorer and beat me in that situation, Rantanen told the Denver Post.

Nashville’s Saros shined

Mikael Granlund served in the opening set by Filip Forsberg 1-0 lead when Nashville faced Winnipeg. Dylan DeMelo tied the match in the same set and the solution was finally sought in overtime, where Winnipeg’s Kyle Connor emerged as the decider.

Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros kept his team up and made 39 saves.

– Saros gave us a chance to win with his saves. It’s a shame we didn’t get two points for “Juice” because he played so well, Granlund said after the game.

– We got one point mostly because of Saros. He is our best player night after night. We have to help him a little more, Forsberg stumbled.

The Dallas Stars once again organized a huge final rally when they beat the Washington Capitals 2-1 in the away bowl with two goals in the final set. Miro Heiskanen shot with superiority from the blue line and Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn crushed the puck into the goal.

Colin Miller scored the winning goal one minute and 19 seconds after Benn’s hit.

– We wanted to regroup for the last round. We have an honest group that knows when we play well and when we don’t. They know how to fix the game, Dallas head coach Peter DeBoer said.

A defender in the back lines of Dallas Miro Heiskanen returned to giant minutes after one match, as the Finn toiled on the ice for almost 26 minutes. Dallas’ two other Finnish defenders also got a lot of responsibility, because Jani Hakanpää clocked well over 19 minutes of ice time and Esa Lindell on the other hand, almost 21 minutes.

Central Division leader Dallas snapped Washington’s five-game winning streak. Washington is sixth in the Metropolitan Division.

Mitch Marner’s streak ended

The New York Rangers got off to a flying start against Toronto when Filip Chytil took the team to a 1–0 lead after less than four minutes of play Kaapo Kako input. Kako now has 6+5 powers for this season.

Rangers won the match 3–1 when Jimmy Vesey completed the team’s other two goals.

of Toronto Mitch Marner’s the point streak was broken and remained 23 matches long. Marner’s point streak is the third longest in the current salary cap era. Above are only Patrick Kanewith a 26-game point streak and Sidney Crosby (25).

– I knew that my streak would break at some point. It doesn’t bother me. It’s hard to get points in this league, that’s why it’s the best league in the world, Marner comments after the game (you go to another service).

After a great start to the season, the Boston Bruins lost to the Los Angeles Kings 2-3 after the winning shootout. Boston led the match 2–0 after two periods, but two goals by Los Angeles’ Swedish forward Adrian Kempe helped the team first to overtime and finally to the winning shootout.

Rasmus Kupari returned to the Los Angeles lineup for the first time since late November. He clocked seven minutes of ice time and had no power points.

Eeli Tolvanen, who recently moved from the Nashville Predators to the Seattle Kraken, was on the sidelines when Seattle faced the Carolina Hurricanes away. Carolina won the match 3–2. Carolina’s Finnish forwards Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Teuvo Teräväinen were left without effects. Keeper Antti Raanta was on flute shift.
