Three new Swedish restaurants can be proud of their first Michelin star. It is clear since the Nordic edition of the Michelin guide was presented at a ceremony in Stavanger, Norway.

In Stockholm is awarded Adam / Albin a star. Chefs Adam Dahlberg and Albin Wessman have been offering fine dining originating in Nordic cuisine for the past six years and give guests a personal experience where they complete the dishes at the table and tell about how the dish was created.

In Stockholm also gets restaurant Nour, where chef Sayan Isaksson combines Asian elements with Swedish ingredients in an original way, a star. This is Isaksson’s second Michelin star. In 2017, he was awarded the award for his now closed restaurant Imouto.

But Rydöbruk in Halland also offers great culinary experiences. Restaurant Knystaforsen is decorated in an old sawmill and where chef Nicolai Tram transforms local ingredients into cuisine over an open fire.

“Our inspectors are impressed by the culinary avant-garde of the Nordic restaurants. Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland, these countries excel with personality and courage in their chefs, who are internationally recognized style makers “, says Gwendal Poullennec at Guide Michelin in a press release.

This is the Michelin guide – and this means the stars

The French tire manufacturer Michelin began publishing its restaurant and hotel guide in 1900. At that time, there were about 3,000 cars in France. An afterthought may have been to encourage and make it easier for people to go out on the roads and tear tires.

  • The Michelin guide or Guide rouge is regularly criticized for being conservative, favoring French cooking, keeping famous chefs on their backs and missing many good easier places, but is still the most influential pub guide in Europe and possibly in the world. :
  • * A very good restaurant in its category.

** Excellent cooking, worth a detour.

*** Exceptionally good kitchen, worth a trip of its own.
